TEACHING TOOLS: Using Minecraft Floor Plans in Math (Perimeter) in Minedraft.net

My Grade 3 class used a very cool side called Minedraft.net to create Minecraft styled houses for a perimeter activity.

Students were asked to create a Minecraft house and determine the perimeter in units.

Then they had to make a fence to keep the creepers out and they had to determine the perimeter of that as well. 

This was a 50 minutes activity that had a high level of student engagement.
