Downloading the Software
After purchasing the product from our online store, you should receive an e-mail confirming your order and it will also contain a link to download your software. Click the link and save the software to your computer. If you are using Internet Explorer you may receive a warning about downloading programs from the Internet. Close the dialogue box by clicking the x in the right hand corner and continue with the download.
Once downloaded, locate where you downloaded the file. Make sure all other programs are closed then double click on the file to begin the set-up process. You may will receive a warning that the publisher is unverified. Please ignore and continue with installation. The setup program will continue to walk you through the installation process.
When done, locate the file (called Adventures) in your program menu and launch (note: there is also an uninstall utility). The program, by default, will want to run in 640x480. Please leave this option checked. When you exit the program, your screen resolution will revert back to your previous setting.
I cannot install the software on my computer or it freezes when installing?
-Make sure you are running a windows PC (it is not MAC compatible).
-The software should install on most PCs. Cases where the software might not install is where you do not have administration rights to install the software on that computer (e.g. a school computer that is used by students where the computer has limited privileges). The software will install on staff computers (for example the teacher netbooks distributed by the Simcoe County District School Board). You may wish to contact your IT department to confirm whether the software can be installed on a particular computer.
-When installing, make sure all other programs are closed.
-Try rebooting your computer and make sure your operating system is up to date.
I cannot not hear any sound?
-Make sure your computer is properly connected to speakers and the volume is adjusted accordingly.
How do I uninstall the program?
-An uninstall utility is included along side the program.
How many computers can I install the software on?
-You are license to install the software on one computer (you can uninstall the software and reinstall it on another computer when necessary). You may have multiple people using the software on that one computer (for example in a classroom setting).
Can I use the software with an interactive whiteboard or Smartboard?
-Yes! the software looks great on an interactive whiteboard. The software is optimized to display is 640x480 which fills the screen of an interactive whiteboard.
